- You must admissible to enter Canada
- You must be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- You must have Canadian medical insurance from an insurance company designated in Canada that must be valid for one year from the date of arrival to Canada
- You must undergo a medical examination before applying
- You must demonstrate that you will leave Canada at the end of your authorized entry period

- Demonstrate that they are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
