STUDY PERMIT
A study permit a legal document that allows a student from a foreign country to study in Canada. Most international students require a study permit to enrol in a Canadian academic institution. Based on your country of citizenship, you may also require a temporary residence visa, which is issued at the same time as your study permit. You may apply for a study permit either inside or outside Canada.
Study Permit Outside Canada: For applicants outside Canada, to be eligible for study permit you must meet the following requirements:

Study Permit Inside Canada : If you are in Canada as a visitor and wish to apply for a study permit to attend a designated learning institution, you may be able to do so from within Canada. Certain foreign nationals may apply for and receive a study permit from within Canada. These include:

Upon successful completion of study, a student is eligible for a Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP). A PGWP provides pathways for Permanent Residence for students. Click here for more info

- Letter of Acceptance from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada
- Proof language test results (IELTS, TOEFL, etc.)
- You must be able to provide proof of payment for the first year of study
- Proof of living expenses for the first year which is usually $10,000, as evidenced by bank statements
- Completion of upfront medical exam
- Most recent secondary and post-secondary transcripts

- Minor children studying at the primary or secondary level
- Exchange or visiting students
- Students who have completed a short-term course or program of study that is a condition for acceptance at a designated institution
