POST GRADUATE WORK PERMIT
The post-graduation work permit (PGWP) allows international students who have completed post secondary education from a Designated Canadian Learning Institute (DLI) to obtain an open work permit to gain valuable Canadian work experience. Skilled Canadian work experience under the eligible national occupation codes that is gained while participating in the PGWP helps students qualify for permanent residence in Canada.

To be eligible for a PGWP, international students must have:
NOTE: You must apply for a PGWP within 180 days of obtaining your final official transcript.

Eligibility for a PGWP:
To be eligible for a PGWP, international students must have:
- Graduated from an eligible designated learning institution (DLI).
- Completed studies in Canada at least of eight months long at an eligible Post-Secondary Institution which leads to a degree, diploma or certificate
- Must have maintained full-time student status in Canada during every semester of the program or programs of study completed
- Provide proof of completion of the program by submitting a transcript and an official letter from the eligible DLI confirming that they have met the requirements to complete their program of study
