FEDERAL SKILLED WORKER
The federal skilled worker program is one of the most popular categories under the Economic Class. Canada admits skilled immigrants with the experience needed to contribute to the Canadian economy. The selection is based on a points system that evaluates an applicant's education, work experience, official language proficiency, age, pre-arranged employment in Canada and adaptability.

In addition to the above requirements an applicant must score at least 67 points against six selection factors in the points system for this program.

- At least one year of continuous full-time work experience or equivalent in the continuous part-time employment in the past years. The employment must have been in a NOC A,B or 0 occupation.
- Performed the actions described in the lead statement for the occupation during the period of employment.
- Meet or exceed the minimum language requirements.
